This slicer was developed in Manitoba, Canada, to ripen during the short summers of the Manitoba prairie. A vigorous shorter variety, it bears heavy yields of 3-4 inch crimson red fruit with a refreshing, tangy tomato taste. Great for slicing or for canning. One of the more productive early heirlooms.
Plant in full sun in soil that has been amended with compost and a good organic fertilizer that is not too high in nitrogen. Space plants 3 feet apart. This is a bushy variety that does not need staking.
Harvest when fruit is fully red and slightly soft to the touch.
