Peppers 'Sweet Banana'

These peppers are very early to produce and very prolific. The long, light yellow peppers are sweet in flavor. Leave some on the plant to mature to red with even more intense flavor.

Plant in full sun in soil that has been amended with compost and a good organic vegetable fertilizer. Space plants 2 feet apart. These heavy bearing plants may be supported with a tomato cage or sturdy stakes with twine to keep them from falling over from the weight of the peppers.

Harvest when peppers lose their greenish tinge and are fully yellow. They are great for pan frying alone or with some savory sausage, or stuff some with cheese and bread crumbs and bake, then sprinkle with fresh herbs. They may also be pickled and canned.
